Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
A senior representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
